University of California Berkeley Dining Hall and Administrative Office Building

The Centralized Dining and Student Services Building is a new building of approximately 90,000 square feet containing two primary programmatic elements:
a new student dining facility and University administrative office space.

The dining facility consolidates and replaces two existing dining halls
which were demolished following completion of the project.

The administrative office space will allow the University to consolidate its Housing & Dining and Parking & Traffic offices from multiple temporary facilities into a single permanent building.

This new building balances the University’s
desire for a modern dining and office facility with the need to sensitively respond to the strong urban and architectural character of the existing neighborhood.

The building is located on a restricted urban site
that and must respond to the sloping topography of the Berkeley Hills.

(This project was designed while a principal of Dworsky Associates)
